HPS Sponsorship
Edwin Konijn & Hunter Dean in their acknowledgement of what HPS sponsorship mean't to the team at HPS, said 'What an exciting time. A team of untried young sailors, going up against the big fish, of the Sydney to Hobart, we like it.
'We like the opportunity to work with a dynamic and keen team. For us it gives us the opportunity to put back into the local community, and participate in an exhilarating event.
More than that, of course, the team at HPS knew that with their cutting-edge skill, in modelling and training excellence, they could as with all their projects maximize Team Melbourne Uni's chance of crossing the finish line first.'
In speaking of their own delight at HPS's involvement, Team Melbourne Uni commented, 'With the unparalleled strength of our sponsors and the University behind us, combined with the formidable commitment of the individuals already involved, these challenges are well within reach.'
Hunter Dean has organised his friend and peer seven-time world champion swimmer, Shelley Taylor-Smith, to speak to the young team about her model of success and taking it to the ocean.
'If Shelley Taylor-Smith can power through the length of the Sydney to Hobart yacht race on a pair of arms and legs, then she knows as much about determination, inspiration, and winning as any champion in the entire world,' Hunter Dean said. 'Shelley Taylor-Smith is a figurehead for the massive action and energy HPS delivers in their training with Team Melbourne Uni.'
Individual Coaching Sessions
Each crewmember received eleven individual coaching sessions, and fifty-six hours of workshops from HPS trainers.
The performance specialists company aims at affirming team synchronicity, energy, and absolute alignment of motivation, goals and performance, in the sailing team.
HPS trainers are aware their methods for helping Team Melbourne Uni are outside the square of normal training, and will certainly challenge crew members, to refine their systems of success.
In his address to the young sailing team, Hunter Dean said, 'Our coaching and training is going to be touch - it will stretch and challenge you. You will need to be able to work outside the square to produce outstanding results consistently.
HPS promised to get Team Melbourne Uni mentally prepared to perform well under any conditions. 'Our outcome is to finish with Team Melbourne Uni in the top three in the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race, so you can witness what it feels like to cross that finish line with crowds of people cheering and waving, and write yourselves into the history books.'
