High Performance Behaviours

Case Study

Leading Australian Organisation

Aim

HPS was engaged by one of the largest Organisations in Australia to understand the key contributors of their high performers. This was done in order to help them bridge the gap between their successful team members and those considered less successful to create an environment of teamwork and collaboration.

Our key objective in shifting performance levels across the team would ultimately achieve higher and more consistent performance and profit ensuring the creation of a high performance team and ensuring behaviour change within the environment.

How is this achieved?

This organisation realised it had some of the best performers in Australia, and what was needed was a model to replicate this. Working with HPS, this organisation now has both a quantitative and qualitative model for the achievement of excellence in the organisation.

Results

With HPS involvement, the highest performing team not only sustained, but also enhanced productivity by 30% per week and establishing an industry record, whilst maintaining quality performance improvement standards.

This was made possible by not only modelling the efficiencies of the team, but also through working with the leaders of the team to realise their potential while enhancing the team's performance.

  • Through corporate team building processes the group was able to adapt various new measures of performance enhancement, including knowledge management structures for sharing information, including best practice ideas and suggestions.
  • This model is unique to the individual needs of the business and can now be used in the recruitment of new employees, performance management programs and coaching.
  • Working with HPS, the organisation put its team through a human performance programme designed to empower and question every part of their role in a way that would enable them to see the gaps and take action to close them.
  • By being specific to their own roles the program has the advantage of being 100% relevant, as do the results and the feedback.
  • HPS worked with the executive to implement a success through strategy model using unique business modelling processes. HPS does this by a series of interventions designed to understand the top performer and then contrast this against those operating at differing levels.
  • By using a tool called iWAM the managers were able to coach their teams around specific performance management related issues in order to change behaviour quickly and effectively

The distinctions that differ are then distilled and written up in a model presented back to the organisation. This enables senior management to understand the exact drivers of performance in their top players.

Other Successful Outcomes Achieved:

The use of a number of key programs giving the team the 'how' behind business success and providing the tools to increase their individual contribution to the business

  • Dramatically enhanced performance of specific strategies, increasing individual self awareness, accountability, responsibility and corporate team building
  • An increase in emotional awareness and empowerment
  • Providing a method to gain similar success across the organisation no matter what a person's personality or strategies currently are, enabling people to develop faster to change behaviour
  • This enabled them to identify other key areas of duplication, disagreement and accountability
  • Overall improved business performance, a more cohesive, engaged and team focused division

Use of iWAM a work attitude & motivation tool enabling teams to understand and benchmark using cultural analysis to then transform the team in the way that suited both the team members and required business results.

The continued ability for the organisation to use this world class scientifically validated tool in recruitment and selection, and the creation of development plans for both new and existing employees in a short labour supply market.

iWAM is used to coach and mentor people in a way that empowers them to change quickly.
